well to the dissappointment of one caller today, this will not work.
“my parents bought a new computer and gave me their older one, a compaq 4402(a pentium 166, 1.6gig hard drive, and 16mb ram) and i’m going to upgrade it. i went to office max and bought a 40gb hard drive, and 256meg of ram and a 3d accelerator agp card. oh, and i bought windows xp pro.”

the reality is the computer will only support a 4.3gb drive, 128mb of EDO, not SDRAM, it doesn’t have an agp slot, and windows xp will not run on anything slower than a 300mhz.
his last comment was the best, “damn, i got all excited, i even ran out and bought diablo II”
“did you open any of the software?” i asked…
“yeah, i opened ‘em up right away…why? does that mean they won’t take them back?

so i’d been wondering where my change had been dissappearing to, and i believe i’ve found it. 3 weeks ago, they started stocking our pop machine with coke. and since, i’ve probably had at least one per day. so it’s not holes in my pockets, it’s coke in my hand, that’s making my jingly coins vanish.

well, after a year and a half of respite. tonight i’m back teaching the internet class for old folks. that’s right, the regular guy’s gone, and i got suckered into it. oh well, he’s buying me lunch. twice for this. ok, so the class isn’t actually for old people, but 90% of the students are past retirement. the others didn’t graduate highschool, so the aptitude is relatively the same. i need a drink.

ok.

uh. yeah.
