If those words excited you as much as they did me when I read them … then we’re both sad, sad people. And we’ll both be interested in going here.

Goodnight

Well, before it’s all gone, I hope you all had a good 2003, and here’s wishing everyone an even better 2004.

To be entertained.

Kate’s got me thinking about entertainment. Just entertainment in general, and the time we spend on it. It’s been rolling around in my mind for the last few months. But at year’s end, I see lists like this, and any other list proclaiming “best of the year”, and it’s always entertainment. Movies, music, games, plays, television, books. I’ll allow that books do not always fall under the entertainment category, and neither does some television — those can also be education, which is a fairly noble thing — but for the most part, the things that stick with us as good things of the year are generally things which when viewed critically are just frivolous novelties. Are we so spoiled, pampered and comfortable in our society that the only things that seem noteworthy are those which have left us feeling amused?

Down with breakfast.

I don’t want to eat eggs anymore, because now I’m scared of them.

A few pictures

They’re not much to look at, but here you go. A few pictures from Christmas 2003.
