For my part, I’m kind of relieved that he’s … well, a he. I was all ready to have one more reason to dislike Bush. ![]()

I guess you could say I was trolling for that response, Jess. Silly of me, then, not to have an explanation prepared. It could be summed up by saying that I don’t think that women should be commonly placed in such powerful positions.
Call it sexism if you wish, but not all sexism is wrong. Neither is all discrimination wrong. If we were to discard all discretion, would we have pedophiles as elementary school principals? That’s an extreme example, for those of you who are so sensitive as to think that I’d have the audacity to compare all of womankind to pedophiles.
In our enlightened society, sexism is bad and blind tolerance is good. I’m of the understanding that there *are* in fact gender roles, that they *are* in fact echoed in nature, and that they *are* in fact downplayed by a morally bankrupt society that seeks to define equality as the empowerment of the weak by way of belittling the strong. They would purport that a woman could do anything a man could, and would likely do it better.
Regardless, I can fall back on the reasoning that if my viewpoint is sexist, then Justice O’Connor’s disappointment in the pick because he is male is too.
i believe jessica was hoping for something more along the lines of “guys rule girlz drool”.
so.
there.
someone said it.
it’s up to you to decide if i mean it.
I’m not sure whose cause you’re helping or hurting there, Drew.
Hey everybody, look at the pretty moving picture.
