of weddings and amazing photographers…

Fredel and Jason Thomas
October 29th 2005

my cousin fredel got married this weekend. in mitchell south dakota. it was a pretty amazing ceremony, her new husband, jason, is also a remarkable person. the ceremony was very faith centered, and very much fun. and i’m not totally sure the theology of our loved ones “looking down on us” from heaven, but this picture is a reminder that Billie Hale, my aunt and fredel’s mother, is still very much a part of this family, and that somewhere, somehow i believe that she was with us at this very moment.

the photographer that took these amazing photos is shalista. check her out! absolutely unbelievable work.

For Jessica

I forgot to mention earlier, the reason I started to post. It was to make Apple’s “Aperture”:http://www.apple.com/aperture/ program known to her. Since she’s all pro now. :D

More seriously, this program does look to be pretty slick. It’s sole purpose is to edit RAW images, with a bunch of versioning and original image preservation niftiness thrown in. Although Jessica’s “eMac”:http://www.apple.com/education/emac/ won’t handle it (nor will mine), if I were a photographer, this looks like it would be well worth the money spent on the software ($500) and on a dual or “quad”:http://www.apple.com/powermac/dualcore.html G5.

Here still. There also.

I posted over on “my blog”:http://mark.drzycimski.org/ about my “new mac”:http://blog.axbdesign.net/misc/work.jpg and “other various things”:http://mark.drzycimski.org/article/42/this-space-not-for-rent. It’s surprising how not writing for a while can get the ol’ mind out of shape. I feel like i’m prattling like a four year old (no offense, Liam).

But anyway, I wanted to point you all to my site, mostly because I’ve thrown out “Wordpress”:http://www.wordpress.org/ and have gone to “Textpattern”:http://www.textpattern.com/ which is oh so much more beautiful in terms of code. Feel free to leave feedback on the new design, I’m not really attached to it.

of blogs and stuff.

well, after years of “us” having this blog here, and a little prodding from kate. michelle asked me recently if i could set her up a family blog for herself. so with a little assistance from mr mark, and a lot of rehashing the template to make it work, here you are…
